Sign placement to get the most effect.

You can have a sign but if its not placed properly it might be missed by many.
If its not attached right it might blow away. Those little stands are made for in town with little wind.
I've been told one has already blown away but his neighbor found it and wanted it.
Let me show you some ideas.
Signs in this demonstration are all 24x18.  and one below a 4x4
All are in a position to be read as traffic is driving towards them.
Placing them away from other objects/signs is recommended if possible.

Placed by themselves in an opening they kinda stick out like a lone tree or as I like to say a sore thumb.
It catches peoples attention before they get near it, and since it has their attention they are looking at it and can read it as they go by,
even if they are running 70 mph.

The main thing, make it stick out so peoples focus is only on one thing if possible, and can be seen from both directions on a road.
More signs in any given area will stick in a persons mind longer that just one sign.

Suggestion.

If everyone would drive by their signs at the posted speed limit, you would then be able to see what other drivers going by see.
I see a lot of signs posted near where people who placed them slow down to turn off that particular road.
They are very readable at a slower speed. But drive by at a higher speed and you may see things differently.

This sign is attached to two electrical fence rods with zip ties. It has survived the winds of 4 thunderstorms.

A wide ditch, but SE wind protection.
Really sticks out.

This yellow color on a green back ground really shows up.

Looking against the sun but it still sticks out. Would help if the ditch was re-mowed. ( it was)

This sign is attached high on a corner post
giving it more visibility. Catches the sunlight well,
But looks like it can only be read well from one direction..

A 4x4

Utilizing trees for a SE wind break, the prevailing wind in the fall.
..

Framed and attached to 6' steel fence posts elevated off the ground so wind can blow under it.
Soon to have solar lights attached to the top of the frame to make it readable at night.

A 4x8 banner mounted to a cattle panel. It won't blow away in the wind.

4x8 with a plywood backing. Only readable from one side.
This highway has 3 signs on it. More signs will stick in the mind.

Framed with hardwood with a strip across the approx middle to keep the sign from billowing in the wind.
Only reason hardwood was used is that's all that was available at the time..
